National integrator comparison

Confluence Security vs Convergint: An Honest Comparison

If you are rolling out hundreds of sites across many states, a large national integrator is the better choice and we will say so first. If you have one to forty buildings in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah or New Mexico and you want the same person answering the phone in year five, that is the work we do.

This page is written to help you make a good decision rather than to win a bad one. There are jobs where the national integrator is the right answer, and pretending otherwise would waste your time and ours.

Everything stated here about the other company is drawn from published financial disclosures, industry trade rankings and public employee review data, with the source and period named in the sentence.

Where the national integrator is genuinely better

Start here, because it is true and because the rest of the page depends on it being said first.

  • Multi-site national rollouts across many states, executed on a single schedule.
  • Line card breadth and top-tier manufacturer status, including access to programs a regional firm cannot reach.
  • In-house 24 by 7 monitoring centers under their own roof.
  • Bonding capacity and a balance sheet suited to very large public projects.
  • Existing federal contract vehicles and formal compliance infrastructure.
  • Lower continuity risk. A multi-billion dollar company will still exist in ten years, and a small firm might not. That is a real consideration and you should weigh it.

The factual profile

The company reported global revenue of roughly 2.7 billion dollars for 2024, up about 10 percent year over year. An industry trade publication ranked it the largest systems integrator for the ninth consecutive year, with systems-integration revenue of roughly 2.4 billion dollars and about 11,766 employees.

It operates more than 220 locations in roughly 37 countries and reported more than 39,000 new projects globally in 2024. A startup-tracking database counted 49 acquisitions as of September 2025.

What the review record actually shows

There is essentially no public customer-review corpus for an enterprise integrator. Dissatisfaction in that market surfaces as a quiet non-renewal, not a one-star review. We are not going to invent customer complaints to fill that gap.

What does exist is employee review data. Glassdoor reviews average about 3.4 out of 5 across roughly 735 reviews, with about 56 percent of reviewers saying they would recommend the company. Recurring themes in those reviews describe inconsistent experience depending on the local team, limited training, and communication gaps.

Here is the inference, and we are labeling it as an inference rather than a fact. With hundreds of locations and dozens of acquisitions, the quality of any single engagement is the quality of one branch. Those employee reviews indicate branch quality varies. A single-region firm's quality is the owner's quality, which is a smaller surface and easier for you to evaluate before you sign.

The five advantages a regional firm actually has

These are structural, not marketing. Each one is testable during the sales process, and you should test them.

  • The owner is reachable in one escalation step, not four.
  • Named technician continuity across design, install and service, so the person who commissioned the system is the person who services it.
  • Local response measured in hours, because the truck is nearby and the parts are local.
  • Local code and authority-having-jurisdiction relationships, which are genuine and non-transferable value.
  • Vendor-neutral design with no national rebate program steering the manufacturer choice.
  • Willingness to service a small system. A twelve-camera install is a real account here, not a rounding error.

Common questions

Should we hire a national integrator or a regional one?

Count your sites and your states. Many sites across many states favors a national integrator with a single schedule and one contract vehicle. A concentrated footprint in one region favors a regional firm, because response time and continuity dominate the total cost of ownership.

Is a smaller integrator riskier?

On continuity, yes, and we will not pretend otherwise. Reduce that risk by insisting on open architecture, full documentation, and possession of your own administrator credentials, so another firm could take over your system without replacing it.

Who will actually service our system?

Ask for names, then ask whether those names installed it. On our projects the designer, installer and service technician are the same small group, and we put that in the proposal.

Talk through the practical next step.

Tell us how many buildings you operate and where. If a national integrator is the better fit, we will say so.
